I have an amazing easel card for you today. Check out all the pics to see all the lovely details! I will try to list the supplies but I might miss a few. 🙂
Supplies: 140# cold press extra white watercolor paper, 110# white cardstock (5″ x7″ easel card base), vellum, shimmer pearl paper, gold cardstock, embossing paste, wedding glitter, rambling rose embossing folder, Marianne dies- wedding couple, the top arch, Spellbinders rose & leaf, Sue Wilson maidenhair fern, Cheery Lynn mini flourish & fishtail banner, gossamer white ribbon, pearl/rhinestone embellishments, pearl/rhinestone button, heart stencil, baroque stencil, Heartfelt Creations heart die, a variety of ribbon and lace, foam dimensional bits, a bit of tulle for the veil. 1″ circle punch- for making the pocket on the back. I am sure I am missing stuff, but you get the idea 🙂 oh, Distress Ink: Peeled Paint.
Directions: Cut everything, edge the greenery with peeled paint. Assemble from base up ending with Roses. Embellish with pearls and rhinestone bling. I left my roses white, but you could add color if you want. Terrible directions, but it took a few hours to put together, mostly because I couldn’t decide “Exactly” how I wanted it. In the end, like most cards, they come together perfectly how you tried to envision them! and in some cases, even better. 🙂

What a beautiful card! I have the Marianne Border die and would love to make a similar card. You didn’t give any measurements for the easel part and I could certainly use your help in that regard and putting it together too. Could you email me those details. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your comment. The easel card base is hinge card that is 5″ x 7″ Cut three pieces of cardstock- 1: 5″ x 8″ 2: 5″ x 7″ 3: 5″ x 7″. Score the 1st piece at one inch mark so when it folds down it is 5 x 7. Glue piece 2 to the 1 inch fold and score piece 2 in half. That is the piece that will fold down to make your easel. Glue piece 3 to the bottom half of the folded piece. It will make an easel. In your design it will work best if you make your decorated/die cut piece and glue it onto the 3rd piece after the easel is assembled.

Thanks so much for your quick reply. Now that I have zoomed in I can see that. I am now trying to figure out all the different layers , their dimensions and what gets glued to what. lol I have one question about the shimmer pearl paper…is that what I see behind the top arch and if so is it the full length of that layer or just behind the arch? Sorry to be such a pain but it is hard to deconstruct the layers from pics…I think I am cross-eyed from staring so long at each different layer. lol Hopefully I can figure this out soon since I need to make this card for my dear friends. I know this is cheeky but I wonder if you would consider sending me more detailed instructions? I promise to give you credit for the design and to only use it for personal use.

hi Joanne,
I will try to write out more exact directions for you 🙂 After making your easel card base from sturdy white cardstock (I used 110 lb. paper) do the following.
1. cut 2 pieces of gold cardstock (sometimes called gold poster board 6 3/4″ x 4 3/4″
2. cut 2 pieces of white shimmer paper 6 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ and emboss with a rambling rose dies
3. layer these two pieces together with the gold on the bottom. set aside to dry.
4. cut 2 of your Marianne arch die and emboss. take the die and lay it on some gold cardstock and trace around the outside of the die twice and cut both pieces out with scissors. be sure to cut inside the tracing line or it will be too big for the die cut piece. glue the gold onto the back of the Marianne arch die.
5. glue the arches on each panel you made in step 3 about an inch and a half down from the top.
6. cut your rose leaves from watercolor paper and color with distress ink- I used peeled paint.
7. cut other leafy items- I used “maidenfair fern” from sue Wilson. cut mini leaf swirls from gold cardstock- I used cherry lynn tiny flourishes
8. make 5 paper roses- 2 large, 1 medium, 2 small. I used white watercolor paper and did not color them with ink. you could color them if you want. I used spellbinders roses dies
9. die cut your wedding couple 2 times and layer together. I cut the bottom piece from white cardstock and the top piece from pearl shimmer paper- . I embellished the bride with some tulle and rhinestones – making it look like she had a veil attached to her hair at the back of her head.
10. cut your round gold piece from gold cardstock and cut gold numbers
11. stamp your sentiment onto vellum with versamark watermark ink and emboss with gold and die cut with a banner die cut. I used cherry lynn fishtale bannner
Now you are ready to assemble your front pieces– do a dry run and make sure everything will work before you glue it down.
12. on the top front panel- I used hot glue. glue your leaves and swirls and put your large flower in the middle of it– use your embellishments to cover where the arch meets the panel. or just put some lace where the two pieces meet. I did that on the bottom panel I put lace.
13. on the Bottom of the TOP panel do the same– arrange your leaves, gold swirls and medium flower glue it down.
14. using dimensional foam put wedding couple on the left. put your gold circle on with the sentiment on it- attach that too put in your numbers with dimensional foam and some hot glue.
15. The bottom panel: glue down to the bottom piece of your easel card. cover the line where the Marianne arch meets the panel with a piece of lace.
16. arrange your leaves and embellishments and large rose and glue it down where the lace is. this is the rose/embellishment that will work to keep your card as an easel.
17. Tie a bow using tulle and glue it on in front of your rose and add a pretty pearl/rhinestone button.
18. now glue your front facing panel onto your card. I recommend hot glue. it’s heavy and you want it to stay.
Back of card— secret message place– this spot is half of your 5 x 7 piece. your space is 2 1/2 ” x 3 1/2″
19. cut a piece of pearl shimmer paper 2 inches x 3 inches. use a heart stencil and embossing paste to make a heart on it. or just use a heart die cut. I used both. let it dry. using a one inch hold punch cut a half circle on the side of the piece.
20. carefully put wet glue on the 3 sides of the underside of this piece and glue it down – making a pocket.
21. glue a row of pearl and rhinestone embellishments on the side.
22. using sturdy cardstock cut a piece that is 2″ x 3 ” hole punch the end, put in some seam binding ribbon and attach the smallest rose you made with some leaves and a gold swirl. write a message and insert it into the card.
the tag I made was because I put it in a box with a clear lid. and tied tulle around the box and attached the tag. its one die cut with a stamped sentiment and a rose and leaves and embellishments.
